在爵士樂的世界裡，結他與人聲的二重奏是最考驗音樂家默契與創意的形式之一。這場演出將由兩位兼具國際視野與學術深度的爵士樂手——結他手Vincent Choy與歌手Rachel Sung，以傳奇組合Joe Pass與Ella Fitzgerald為藍本，重新演繹爵士標準曲目。

Vincent Choy是一位往返於香港與珀斯的結他手與作曲家，目前正於西澳表演藝術學院攻讀作曲碩士。學生時期即與Frank Gambale、Remy Le Boeuf等國際級樂手同台，並曾登上布里斯本Dots and Loops音樂節、悉尼音樂學院爵士節等舞台。2023年他獲頒WAAPA爵士榮譽獎，展現其成熟的音樂造詣。

Rachel Sung則是香港近年備受矚目的爵士女聲。她擁有劍橋大學性別研究哲學碩士學位，其學術研究正聚焦於爵士樂與人聲即興。返港後更活躍於本地樂壇，從西九自由爵士音樂節到香港經貿辦的歐洲四國巡演，舞台經驗豐富。她曾與葛萊美獎得主Justin Stanton、Becca Stevens及本地名家Ted Lo、Teriver Cheung等多位音樂家合作，展現其專業的適應力與藝術包容性。

In the world of jazz, the guitar-vocal duo stands as one of the most demanding forms for musicians, testing both their rapport and creativity. This performance will feature two jazz artists with both international vision and academic depth—guitarist Vincent Choy and vocalist Rachel Sung—reimagining jazz standards inspired by the legendary pairing of Joe Pass and Ella Fitzgerald.

Vincent Choy is a guitarist and composer who divides his time between Hong Kong and Perth. He is currently pursuing a Master of Composition at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). During his studies, he has shared the stage with international musicians such as Frank Gambale and Remy Le Boeuf, and has performed at festivals including Brisbane's Dots and Loops and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Jazz Festival. In 2023, he received the WAAPA Jazz Honours Award, showcasing his mature musical artistry.

Rachel Sung is one of Hong Kong's most prominent jazz vocalists in recent years. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Gender Studies from the University of Cambridge, where her academic research focused on jazz and vocal improvisation. Since returning to Hong Kong, she has been highly active in the local music scene, gaining extensive stage experience from the West Kowloon Free Jazz Festival to the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office's European tour across four countries. She has collaborated with Grammy Award winner Justin Stanton, Becca Stevens, and local luminaries Ted Lo and Teriver Cheung, demonstrating her professional adaptability and artistic inclusivity.

What makes this duo special is that both musicians possess solid foundations in traditional jazz. For jazz enthusiasts, this promises an evening to purely appreciate the beauty of jazz interaction, witnessing how vocals and guitar create rich musical layers and improvisational sparks through a minimalist arrangement.
