【Jazz Future: Tim Li Quartet】跨越倫敦與香港的新生代爵士鋼琴手

李承致 (Tim Li) 是一位來自香港、現居倫敦的爵士鋼琴家及作曲人，畢業於英國 Trinity Laban 音樂及舞蹈學院，正逐步成為英國與香港兩地爵士樂壇上備受矚目的新一代鋼琴聲音。

自五歲起學習古典鋼琴，李承致在教會音樂環境中成長，福音音樂為他的律動感和和聲語言打下基礎。一次偶然由鼓老師介紹，他首次接觸爵士樂，從此開啟一條不曾預料的音樂旅程。

2017年移居英國後，他於伯明翰皇家音樂學院青少年課程隨 Mike Williams 學習爵士，隨後在 Trinity Laban 深造，師從水星音樂獎得主 Deschanel Gordon、Byron Wallen 等英國當代重要爵士樂手。

李承致的演奏風格融合 hard bop 的律動、福音音樂的和聲語言與藍調情感，風格鮮明、旋律感強烈且充滿節奏張力，深受 Benny Green、McCoy Tyner、Gene Harris 和 Kenny Kirkland 等鋼琴巨匠影響。

演出足跡包括倫敦的 Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho、Southbank Centre、Roundhouse，以及 EFG 倫敦爵士音樂節、Ealing 爵士節與波蘭 Festiwal Jazz Jantar 等國際舞台。

作為一位自香港走出的新生代爵士鋼琴手，李承致正一步步在兩地建立屬於自己的聲音與位置，開展屬於自己的音樂旅程。8月9號，他將聯同本地出色樂手Jonas Cho, Ming Chan以及Jason Wong於CODA Jazz Kissa演出，敬請期待！

Sing Chi Tim Li is a Hong Kong-born, London-based jazz pianist and composer, and a recent graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. With a growing reputation across both the UK and Hong Kong jazz scenes, Tim is emerging as one of the exciting new voices to watch.

Starting classical piano at the age of five, Tim’s early musical roots were shaped by years playing in church, where gospel music developed his sense of rhythm and harmony. A chance introduction to jazz from his drum teacher opened a door he didn’t expect—but one that would ultimately define his musical direction.

After moving to the UK in 2017, Tim began his jazz study at the Junior Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with Mike Williams, later refining his craft at Trinity Laban under leading UK artists including Mercury Prize-winning pianist Deschanel Gordon, Byron Wallen, and others shaping London’s contemporary jazz scene.

Tim’s playing blends the rhythmic energy of hard bop, the harmonic language of gospel, and the blues-infused storytelling of his piano heroes: Benny Green, McCoy Tyner, Gene Harris, and Kenny Kirkland. Known for his strong groove, melodic clarity, and emotional drive, he brings both power and nuance to the bandstand.

His growing list of performance credits includes the EFG London Jazz Festival, Ealing Jazz Festival, Festiwal Jazz Jantar in Poland, and London venues like Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho and the Southbank Centre.

Proud of his Hong Kong roots, Tim is part of a new generation longing to shape the evolving sound of the city’s jazz scene—while carving out his voice on international stages. On the 9th Aug, he will be teaming up with some of the best jazz musicians in Hong Kong such as Jonas Cho, Ming Chan and Jason Wong to perform at CODA Jazz Kissa, stay tuned!
