The Artistry of Duo

Roger Chung 作為鍾氏兄弟的核心成員，多年來在爵士、福音及發燒音樂領域深耕，其創作與演唱風格不僅在多項專業音樂獎項中獲得肯定，亦深受本地樂迷推崇。除活躍於演出外，他亦長期投入音樂教育與推廣，曾於香港大學講授爵士樂歷史，並主持電台節目《爵士鍾情In Love with Jazz》，致力於普及爵士文化。

本場演出，他將再次與菲律賓鋼琴家 Jezrael Lucero 合作。Jezrael 自幼展現非凡音樂天賦，橫跨爵士、騷靈、拉丁、流行及古典音樂領域。二人於2019年合作推出《Song Book 歌集》，以爵士鋼琴與人聲二重奏的形式重新演繹八、九十年代廣東歌作品，展現出他們對旋律與歌曲敘事的細膩理解。

當晚演出將聚焦於爵士樂中歷久不衰的 Piano-Vocal Duo 傳統，精選來自 Tony Bennett & Bill Evans、Bobby McFerrin & Chick Corea、Ella Fitzgerald & Paul Smith、José James & Jef Neve 等經典錄音作品的曲目。除了向這些經典錄音致敬，兩位音樂人亦將重訪《Song Book》中的部分作品，在爵士語彙與廣東歌旋律之間展開對話。

Roger Chung, a core member of The Chung Brothers, is a prominent figure in the local jazz and gospel scene. Beyond his acclaimed performances, he is a dedicated music educator who has lectured on jazz history and hosted the long-running radio program In Love with Jazz.

He reunites with Filipino pianist Jezrael Lucero, a virtuosic talent whose mastery spans jazz, soul, Latin, and classical traditions. Their 2019 collaboration, Song Book, showcased their refined approach to reimagining 80s and 90s Cantopop through the lens of jazz piano-vocal duets.

The evening celebrates the jazz piano-vocal tradition, featuring selections inspired by legendary recordings from pairs such as Tony Bennett & Bill Evans, Bobby McFerrin & Chick Corea, and Ella Fitzgerald & Paul Smith. Alongside these tributes, the duo will revisit highlights from Song Book, fostering a unique dialogue between jazz improvisation and classic Cantopop melodies.
