【Jazz Signature: Scott Murphy x Patrick Lui】色士風與鋼琴的二重奏對話

來自蘇格蘭的色士風演奏家、作曲家兼樂隊領隊Scott Murphy，自2018年定居香港以來，已成為本地爵士樂壇的重要成員。他不僅曾與格林美獎得主Kendrick Scott、Will Vinson等國際爵士名家合作，更參與過張敬軒、林子祥、RubberBand等流行歌手的演出項目。

2018年初到香港時，雷柏熹(Patrick Lui)是Scott最早合作的音樂人之一。多年來，兩人在雷柏熹爵士樂團、自由爵士音樂節及香港藝術節等場合屢次攜手，建立起深厚的音樂默契。

這場音樂會將以二重奏形式呈現兩位音樂人的原創作品，包括已發行的經典曲目和全新創作。演出將聚焦於色士風與鋼琴的即興對話，通過兩種樂器的交織碰撞，展現兩位作曲家獨特的音樂敘事。觀眾將能領略到他們如何將各自的文化背景與音樂經歷，轉化為動人的旋律和故事。

Scott Murphy is an accomplished saxophonist, composer, and bandleader from Scotland, who has established his residence in Hong Kong. 

Since relocating to Hong Kong in 2018, Scott has collaborated with numerous Grammy Award winners and internationally acclaimed jazz artists, including Kendrick Scott, Will Vinson, and Janek Gwizdala. His portfolio also includes pop artists such as Hins Cheung, George Lam, RubberBand etc.

Among many great musicians, Patrick Lui was one of the first musicians in Hong Kong Scott played with when he moved to the city back in 2018. Since then they have collaborated numerous times on projects with Patrick’s Jazz Orchestra and for events such as Freespace Jazz Festival and Hong Kong Arts Festival. 

This show will feature them in a duo setting where the two musicians will be performing a variety of each other’s music including songs already recorded and released as well as brand new compositions. Focussing on interplay and creative collaboration the pieces aim to excite and inspire with both composers' unique experiences leading them to write the songs you will hear and the stories you may be told.
