Samuel Chan陳衍光，香港土生土長的著名爵士鼓手，自六歲學鋼琴，十四歲投身鼓藝，展開音樂旅程。他畢業於香港教育學院音樂系，師承爵士鋼琴家羅尚正(Ted Lo)，獲優秀演奏藝術證書。

隨後，他憑獎學金入讀紐約The Collective School of Music，拜師於Peter Retzlaff、Ian Froman等鼓樂大師，並與Theo Hill、Sean Conly等紐約爵士名家合作錄音與演出。

回港後，他迅速成為炙手可熱的鼓手，與Eugene Pao、Ted Lo等本地大師，以及Barry Finnerty、Eric Marienthal等國際巨星合作。他領導的The Cymbalman Band，多次亮相「Freespace Jazz Fest」等大型音樂節，廣受好評。

近年，他更走向國際舞台，亮相「Montreux Jazz Festival China」，並與葛萊美得主Ricardo Vogt於上海Blue Note演出。同時，他致力培育年輕音樂人，啟發新一代，推動香港音樂發展。

在12月7號，Samuel將與Bowen Li攜手帶來充滿即興元素的曲目。除了向Mark Guiliana與Brad Mehldau致敬，他們亦會演奏Bowen的原創音樂。Bowen亦會結合鍵盤和Synth的音效，為他們的音樂帶來新的維度。

Samuel Chan, a renowned jazz drummer born and raised in Hong Kong, began his musical journey learning piano at six and transitioned to drumming at 14. He graduated from the Hong Kong Institute of Education’s music program, studying under jazz pianist Ted Lo and earning a certificate in outstanding performance.

Later, he received a scholarship to attend New York’s The Collective School of Music, where he trained with drumming masters such as Peter Retzlaff and Ian Froman, and collaborated with jazz greats like Theo Hill and Sean Conly.

Returning to Hong Kong, Samuel quickly became one of the most sought-after drummers, performing with local legends Eugene Pao and Ted Lo, as well as international stars like Barry Finnerty and Eric Marienthal. Leading The Cymbalman Band, he has performed at major festivals, including Freespace Jazz Fest. On the international front, he has debuted at the "Montreux Jazz Festival China" and collaborated with Grammy Award winner Ricardo Vogt at Shanghai Blue Note. 

On December 7, Samuel and Bowen Li will present an improvisation-filled performance, paying tribute to Mark Guiliana and Brad Mehldau while featuring Bowen’s original music and incorporating synth elements, adding a fresh dimension.
