【Jazz Signature: Patrick Lui x Larry Yu】香港著名音樂人對話爵士男聲

Patrick 已逐漸成為本地音樂圈家傳戶曉的名字，他最著名的合作單位有Rubber Band，而近一兩年亦成為陳奕迅巡迴演唱會的鋼琴手。最近1/1號叱咤樂壇流行榜頒獎典禮，他率領的大樂隊Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra亦擔任開場嘉賓，將爵士樂帶入主流視線。

他亦推出過專輯Sonder，遠赴紐約錄音，並收錄他的原創作品以及編曲（To Patrick: 快啲攞黎CODA播啦！）。

這一次來到CODA演出，他帶同香港十分少有唱爵士樂的男聲Larry Yu。與Patrick 相似，Larry亦十分鍾情於Jazz Big Band的聲音。他本人透露，成長階段時便已接觸並愛上Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller等人。

兩位十分熱愛Big Band的音樂人，來到只能容納30多人的場地，一部琴，一把人聲，在即興當中又會發展出怎樣的對話呢？

Patrick has gradually become a household name in the local music scene, best known for his collaboration with Rubber Band and as the pianist for Eason Chan's concert tours over the past years. Recently, on 1st Jan at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards Ceremony, Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra performed at the opening act, bringing jazz into the mainstream spotlight.

He has also released an album "Sonder", recorded in New York, which features his original compositions and arrangements.

This time at CODA, he will be performing with Larry Yu, one of the few male jazz vocalists in Hong Kong. Like Patrick, Larry has a deep passion for the sound of Jazz Big Bands. He shared that he grew up falling in love with music by the giants like Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Glenn Miller. 

With two musicians who are fervent about Big Band music, now performing in an intimate venue that holds just over 30 people, the contrasting combination of one piano and one voice will surely lead to fascinating improvisational dialogues. 

This performance is definitely something to look forward to!
