【Jazz Future: Matthew Chan Trio】 香港爵士樂未來的聲音

Matthew自幼學習古典鋼琴，在本地及海外的古典比賽屢獲殊榮。在香港演藝學院修讀古典鋼琴演奏學士課程其間發掘對爵士樂的興趣。

於2023年畢業後專注於鑽研爵士音樂，在Ted Lo, Bowen Li, Ron Ng及全體Fountain Academy導師的悉心教導下，考獲2025年Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Jazz Master 入學資格。

Matthew 受Bill Evans, Kapustin, Schumann和Chick Corea所啟發。擁有古典與爵士背景的Matthew，將會聯同年輕爵士貝司手Chun晉以及鼓手Jerry Kan，於13/3 為大家帶來一些 jazz standard及重新編曲的作品！

Matthew began his musical journey with classical piano, earning numerous accolades in both local and international competitions. While pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Piano Performance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, he discovered his passion for jazz.

After graduating in 2023, Matthew dedicated himself to the study of jazz, receiving invaluable guidance from Ted Lo, Bowen Li, Ron Ng, and the entire Fountain Academy. He was admitted to the Jazz Master’s programme at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for the 2025 intake.

Inspired by artists such as Bill Evans, Kapustin, Schumann, and Chick Corea, Matthew blends his classical and jazz backgrounds. He will be joined by young jazz bassist Chun and drummer Jerry Kan on March 13 to present a selection of jazz standards along with reimagined compositions.
