宏觀爵士歷史，由鼓手自主領軍的三重奏為數不多，但往往都是最能展現團體默契的組合。這次登場的Jerry Kan Trio，便是這樣一個值得關注的新興組合。

領軍的鼓手Jerry，是香港爵士界迅速崛起的新聲音。他自古典音樂訓練出發，因深受爵士樂即興精神吸引而投身其中。他不僅積極參與國內外大師班與工作坊（如2025年入選意大利錫耶納爵士夏季研習營），更在本地各類樂隊中累積了豐富的舞台經驗。他的創作帶有實驗精神，曾探索如色士風與鼓的二重奏、或無和弦的三重奏等形式。這次以領班身份組織三重奏，正是他音樂思考的又一次實踐。

樂隊的聲響骨架，將由兩位風格成熟且活躍於多元領域的音樂家構築。低音提琴手Nelson Fung，是本地爵士與流行音樂場景中不可或缺的低音線條。他既是Ted Lo Trio等標誌性爵士組合的成員，也是爵士推廣機構Fountain de Chopin的聯合創始人；同時，其深厚的演奏功底亦見於9m88、麥浚龍等流行歌手的作品與舞台。

結他手Vincent Choy則為樂隊注入鮮明的旋律與和聲色彩。目前於西澳表演藝術學院攻讀作曲碩士的他，擁有與Frank Gambale等國際名家同台的經驗，並曾獲學院爵士榮譽獎。

這場演出的曲目將橫跨傳統與現代爵士作品，在沒有鋼琴厚厚的和弦包圍底下，音樂的空間將更為開放，三位樂手之間的互動將成為焦點。這是一場關於默契、創意與爵士樂核心精神的演出，適合所有渴望聽見香港新一代爵士樂手如何詮釋經典、並展現自身原創力的樂迷。

Drummer‑led trios are rare in jazz history, yet they often reveal exceptional ensemble chemistry. The debuting Jerry Kan Trio is one such emerging group to watch, featuring drummer‑leader Jerry Kan with guitarist Vincent Choy and bassist Nelson Fung in a rhythm‑focused setting.

Classically trained and drawn to improvisation, Jerry is a fast‑rising voice in Hong Kong jazz, active in international workshops such as the 2025 Siena Jazz Summer Workshop and known for his experimental approaches, from sax‑drum duos to chordless trios. Forming this trio is a new step in putting his musical ideas into practice.

The band’s foundation is shaped by two seasoned musicians. Bassist Nelson Fung, a key figure in Hong Kong’s jazz and pop scenes, plays with the Ted Lo Trio, co-founded Fountain de Chopin, and appears in projects with artists like 9m88 and Jordan Mak. Guitarist Vincent Choy, currently pursuing a Master of Composition at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, has performed with artists such as Frank Gambale and received the Academy’s Jazz Honors Award.

The program will range from classic to contemporary jazz. Without piano, the music gains spaciousness, drawing attention to the interaction among the three players as they balance reinterpretations of standards with their own creative voices.
