【Jazz Future: HUM Quartet】 吹起本地新生代爵士樂的號角

HUM（張樂恆）是一名新晉色士風手，曾參與香港本地各種爵士樂培訓計劃，當中包括香港青年爵士樂團、翻騰學院等。儘管年輕，但亦不乏演出經驗的他，曾在留白Freespace Livehouse、翻騰三周半Live at Jim Hall 、荃灣大會堂、M+ museum 、Freespace The Room等地方進行演出。

受家庭背景影響，從小便聽著黑膠長大的他，聆聽爵士樂的範圍極廣。從Dixieland，到Bebop，hardbop再到Modern Jazz，他對於樂手與專輯都能如數家珍。他特別喜歡的色士風手包括Lee Konitz, Albert Ayler, Mark Turner以及Melissa Aldana 等，他喜歡到連演奏時都會像Mark Turner一般，投入地上下跳動。

今次來到CODA，他將聯同三位老闆都十分欣賞的新晉樂手Ryan Lee (Guitar), Chun (Bass), Shun (Drums)，挑選他們喜歡的爵士標準曲以及現代爵士作品，介紹給本地樂迷認識。HUM的冒起標誌著爵士樂在香港慢慢普及，並孕育出屬於本地而且出色的爵士樂聲音。

HUM (Cheung Lok Hang) is an emerging saxophonist who has participated in various local jazz training programs in Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Flip Studio. Despite his youth, he has already accumulated rich performance experience at venues such as Freespace Livehouse, Live at Jim Hall (Flip Studio), Tsuen Wan Town Hall, M+ Museum, and Freespace The Room.

Growing up surrounded by vinyl records due to his family background, HUM has developed an extensive knowledge of jazz spanning Dixieland, Bebop, Hard Bop, and Modern Jazz. He can effortlessly dissect iconic artists and albums, and his saxophone idols include Lee Konitz, Albert Ayler, Mark Turner, and Melissa Aldana. His passion is so intense that he even mimics Mark Turner’s signature energetic bouncing while performing.

This time at CODA, HUM will team up with three rising musicians highly praised by our team—Ryan Lee (guitar), Chun (bass), and Shun (drums)—to curate a setlist of beloved jazz standards and modern jazz compositions, introducing local audiences to their fresh musical perspectives. HUM’s rise symbolizes the gradual popularization of jazz in Hong Kong and the cultivation of a distinct, homegrown jazz sound.
