Callum Allardice Guitar Trio

Three-time APRA Best Jazz Composition and Recorded Music NZ Best Jazz Artist awardee, guitarist Callum Allardice takes the stage at CODA.

Born in New Zealand, Callum began his career at fifteen and is now a distinct voice in contemporary jazz. Three of his albums—Sons of Thunder, Deep Thought, and Chungin—won the APRA award, and he was named inaugural Jazz Composer-in-Residence at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music. His music blends indie rock, orchestral, spaghetti western, and modern jazz influences, showcased on his praised album Elementa.

Joining him are double bassist Justin Siu, who will present an original composition, and Berklee graduate drummer Tim Ng.

Drawing from tradition while opening space for modern improvisation, the trio navigates standards and originals through an open dialogue of three distinct musical backgrounds.
