Brian Cheung Trio

身為本地爵士團體「翻騰三周半」創辦人之一，Brian Cheung 的音樂足跡橫跨舞台表演、錄音製作與影視配樂。他曾多次受邀於西九文化區「自由爵士音樂節」、JZ上海爵士音樂節及 Clockenflap 等大型平台演出。除了舞台上的演奏，Brian 近年亦積極投身於電影配樂創作，如《金手指》及黃衍仁《嚼事之夜》等作品。

此次演出，Brian 將與長期合作無間的 Nelson Fung 與 Dean Li 同台。色士風三重奏是不設和弦樂器的編制，少了鋼琴或結他的聲部支撐，卻讓旋律、節奏與和聲暗示之間的關係變得更直接、更開放。樂手需要透過即時反應和集體默契，共同塑造音樂的流向。他們不僅將挑選數首經典的 Jazz Standards 進行重新詮釋，同時也會帶來 Brian 的原創作品，在熟悉與未知之間展開對話。

As one of the founding members of the Hong Kong jazz collective Fountain de Chopin, Brian  has built a career spanning live performance, recording, and film scoring. He has appeared at events including the West Kowloon Free Jazz Festival, JZ Shanghai Jazz Festival, and Clockenflap, while also contributing music to film projects such as The Goldfinger and Wong Hin-yan’s Chewing Affairs at Night.

For this performance, Brian joins long-time collaborators Nelson Fung and Dean Li in a saxophone trio setting. Without piano or guitar, the format opens up more space for direct interplay between melody, rhythm, and implied harmony, demanding close listening and collective interaction from all three musicians. The evening will feature fresh interpretations of jazz standards alongside Brian’s original compositions, creating a dialogue between familiar repertoire and new musical ideas.
