【Jazz Signature: Balkama】 小號手Farley回流香港，大玩巴爾幹半島音樂

Farley (Josh Macculuer)是老闆在香港爵士集體回憶場地Peel Fresco認識的一位樂手，當年每個星期日去jam session都會碰見他，是Nate Wong與Tjoe house band的長期合作樂手。他流利的爵士語言讓人聽得十分舒服，同時他亦能彈奏貝司，讓當年的老闆打開眼界。

更令老闆大開眼界的，是無意間知道原來他是香港管弦樂團的首席小號手，爵士只是他的興趣之一！之後更看過他於不同風格的樂隊演出，包括Café 852, Acoufunkture, Farley’s Angels, Wong Way Down, NTBM, La Résistance, One Love, FSM and 2084 New Age ensembles等，多不勝數。

已離開香港的Farley，將會於4月3日再次回港演出！屆時將會於本地優秀樂手Floro Serenade (Flute), Nazar Tabachyshyn (Accordion) 以及Nate Wong (Drums) 以巴爾幹半島民族音樂重聚，老闆我十分期待！

Farley (Josh Macculuer) is a musician that I met at Peel Fresco, a legendary jazz venue in Hong Kong, where I often run into during the jam sessions every Sunday. Farley is a long-time collaborator with Nate Wong and the Tjoe house band. His fluent jazz language is very pleasant to play with, and he can also play the bass, which was an eye-opening experience for our bass back then.

What truly amazed the boss was discovering that he is actually the principal trumpet player of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, with jazz being just one of his interests! Our boss has also seen him perform with various bands of different styles, including Café 852, Acoufunkture, Farley’s Angels, Wong Way Down, NTBM, La Résistance, One Love, FSM, and 2084 New Age ensembles, among countless others.

Now that Farley has left Hong Kong, he will be returning for a performance on April 3rd! He will reunite with local excellent musicians Floro Serenade (Flute), Nazar Tabachyshyn (Accordion), Alex Dutton (Guitar) and Nate Wong (Drums) to play Balkan folk music. The boss is very much looking forward to it!
