是次活動,Thomas將會聯同老闆龔志成在CODA與大家探討建築,感官與聲音之間的關係。以下是Thomas為活動寫的一段話:
Musician Laurie Anderson’s tai chi teacher begins each session with the words, “Listen, behind you”—after decades of loud sounds and urban living, we have lost our sense of hearing from objects surrounding us. Pauline Oliveros describes a technique known as "listening with the palms of the hands," which involves simultaneously listening behind oneself and moving forward with the process of discovery at a 1:1 scale, as it is full of space and questions.
Architecture and flu are similar. Intensely serious experiences can influence our sense of taste and smell. These are the fears that we are most compelled to experience; it becomes more about how we treat our relationships with speculations and resolutions; architecture is forced to be a part of medicine. From our teaching architecture school, our moral and aesthetic judgments are growing smaller with the proliferation of technology, which is growing wider but at the same time limited - expressing this fear that it could impair your sense of taste and smell, and even space. It's critical to stay hydrated with the advancements and the futures.
